About
Wondering why this isn't more expensive?
It is a fair question. Most studios quote three to five times these numbers for the same work, and a low price usually means a template, an offshore team, or a surprise in month two. Here is the actual reason, and you can check every part of it.
The short answer
There is no agency attached to this. No account manager, no project coordinator, no sales team, no office to pay for. When a studio quotes $25,000 for a website, a large share of that is the people between you and the person actually building it.
Foldline is one designer-developer. The person who writes your brief is the person who writes the CSS, which is why the timeline is short, why nothing gets lost being relayed, and why the price is what it is rather than what a team of six would need it to be.
The prices are published on this site on purpose. Almost nobody in this market does that, and it is the single easiest way for you to check that you are not being quietly overcharged.

These are not estimates. They are the floors that studios and agencies print on their own pricing pages.

Who builds it
Chris Candado builds websites, and has been writing code for a lot longer than this studio has existed.
Foldline came out of a straightforward frustration: good web design had become something you either paid five figures for or faked with a template, and there was nothing sensible in between. A small brand with a genuinely good product would get quoted $20,000, balk, and end up on a theme that made it look like everybody else.
So the point of this studio is narrow and deliberate — make the expensive-looking version affordable, without the two things that usually come with a cheap website: something generic, and somebody you cannot reach afterwards.
Foldline also builds and runs its own brands rather than only working on other people’s. That is where most of the opinions on this site come from: the same decisions, made with our own money, on the same platforms, for the same kind of buyer.
What cheap does not mean
Four things the price does not buy you out of.
- Not a template
- Every site is written for you. Nothing here is a theme with your logo dropped into it.
- Not offshore
- One person builds it, and that person is the one who wrote your brief.
- Not a trap
- There is no license, no builder subscription and no hosting you are locked into. Stop paying us and the site keeps working.
- Not a rush job
- The date is set at the brief and it holds. Cheap and late is just late.
These are launch prices. Foldline is new, and early work has to earn the reference before it earns the rate — so if you are reading this early, you are getting the version of this studio that is still proving itself, at the price that goes with it. See the work and decide whether that looks like a compromise.
